Flaming parrot tulip close up in Keukenhof - Holland
View higher resolution photo

There are 7 million of tulips in Keukenhof garden and hundreds of different varieties. Although it looks a Photoshop picture, I can assure than the colours are directly from the camera. I think they get those unreal colours by mixing seeds from different types. The beautiful variety of the picture is called Parrot tulip (or flaming parrot tulip).

If you like macro photography and flowers, Keukenhof will be your paradise. Believe me, you will not find any other place with more beautiful and bigger and colourful flowers.

How to get Keukenhof?
I highly recommend visiting this beautiful garden to those who visit Amsterdam in Spring and have a spare day to spend. The best way to get Keukenhof from Amsterdam is buying a Combi-ticket. This is a return bus ticket to Keukenhof and an entrance ticket to the garden. The bus goes directly to Keukenhof and you can enter the garden right away, so you will not have problems with train schedules, bus stops, parking problems or even ticket queues. You can get this combi ticket in Amsterdam Central tourist information center or on the Keukenhof web site
