This shot was taken from the observation deck of the famous Empire State Building. That blueish light of the centre is the reflection of the advertising of Times Square

Visitor tips:

- The best moment to go to the observatory is at sunset. You will be able to enjoy the Manhattan skyline in daylight, at dusk and at night time, giving you the best of both worlds.

- All visitors must queue several times, including going through a primary security screening (similar to airport security procedure) until they can finally reach the observatory. There are usually many people, so the whole process takes about one hour in total. Therefore, if you want to be at the top at, let's say 8:00 pm, plan your day accordingly to be at 7:00 pm at the entrance of the building.

- The are two observatories, one at 86th floor and another one even higher, at 102th. The ticket for the second observatory is more expensive, but it's not worth it. Unlike the 86th floor, this deck is closed and glass covered. The 86th has just a high fence, you can see through better and feel the city.

- If you plan to stay in the observatory after sunset, bring a jacket or something with you. As soon as the sun disappears on the horizon, the temperature drops very quickly up there.
